FIRST ROUND SEES ISLETA EAGLE COURSE RECORD MATCHED AT 64
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (July 27, 2010) -- The 38th Annual Junior America's Cup
teed off in fine style in Albuquerque, N.M. as Team British Columbia stormed
to a first-day lead behind the course-record tying round of Bryan Jung. The
seven-under par 64 at the Isleta Eagle Golf Club separated the Coquitlam,
B.C. resident from the field by four strokes while pushing his team into
first place with a team score of five-under 208.
Scores in the "red" seemed to be the theme of the day as 13 rounds under par
were recorded and 22 at par or better were posted. Known as an event that
has featured great players like Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and more, the
JAC lived up to its billing of great play notching five golf associations
that finished even par or better as a team.
